BIO –
Kara, Ed.D. is an enthusiastic and peacefully centered yoga teacher and a skilled educator with 23 years of experience teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) to students of all ages, from children to adults, in a wide range of educational settings, including Morocco, Hungary, Cambodia, New York City and Yonkers, NY. She has a doctorate from Teachers College Columbia University and is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with Yoga Alliance, which acknowledges the completion of a yoga teacher training with a Registered Yoga School (RYS). She has additional certification in Yin Yoga and Children’s Yoga Level One training from Little Flower Yoga. Kara believes that yoga and mindfulness are accessible to all, regardless of age, income level, cultural background or beliefs, and that a consistent yoga and mindfulness practice can bring peace, inner and outer strength, flexibility, and grounding to her students and their families. She enjoys helping students of all fitness levels and ages develop mindful living for long-term health and wellness. Her intention for all her classes is to build self-awareness, compassion, and community.
